Are Vizsla’s hyper?

Some lines can be. Many sites you read stress this. I take exception with this, ours are not hyper. Most important in their life is their people. They are always ready to go, but your companionship is the most important need in their life.

Do you hunt with your dogs?

No, we do not hunt with our dogs. Hunting is not something we are interested in doing. We are primarily focused raising loving and loyal companions. However, we know that about 25% of our dogs are sold to hunters so we start using some techniques that begin their training. Since the Vizsla has been bred as a hunting dog the hunting instinct is there from birth. Good training is the key to a good hunting dog.

Do you show or compete with your dogs?

No, we do not show or compete at this time. We breed for temperament, conformation and color, to be within the standard is a concern we are dedicated to. However, more important is what is between their ears. Meaning a sound mind, even tempered and kind. We have two small children and what we want first and foremost are good, loyal, loving family dogs.

Why are your dogs sold with Limited Registration?

AKC limited registrations helps to prevent these beautiful dogs from ending up in shelters. It helps limit puppy mills and safeguards from over breeding and/or careless breeding.

Are they good with kids?

They excel with my kids. I have a 3 year-old and a 6 year-old. We have numerous friends that come over and they are very friendly and loving. They are protective without being aggressive.

Why do you dock their tails and remove their dewclaws?

This breed was originally used for hunting. Hunters didn’t want their tails and dewclaws caught in the brush and ripped off and mangled. They customarily docked their tails and dewclaws to avoid the mess.

When can I choose my puppy?

The order in which you can choose your puppy is directly related to when we receive your deposit. First come, first served. However, the time to choose your puppy can be begin around 3 ½ weeks. Many people pick their puppies according to physical characteristics others by personality. You can certainly let us know what your preferences are.

When can I pick up my puppy?

Puppies can not be picked up before they are 7 weeks old. This assures that they get started in life with the best possible care.

I have a dog already, should I choose one of the same gender or opposite?

Well, I think you are barking up the wrong tree, if you ask me. I have four dogs: five Vizsla’s and a miniature Daschund. I have four females and 1 male and they all get along splendidly. My observation really comes down to the personality of the dogs involved. There is research that says same gender is better together and others say they will get along better if they are opposite gender. Training, training, training is the real key to having a successfull multiple dog household.
